Since founding Coffee Shop we have always had a passion to learn more, and to dive deep into the thing that is coffee.
When we came across the chance to buy this farm, it was really a no-brainer but to just go for it. We own this farm with Mr. Coffee, a man well known in the coffee industry. If he hadn't taken on the responsibility to move down to Colombia to take charge of the farm, this purchase wouldn't have been possible. What we have learnt is, running a coffee farm is complicated, you need to be on scene, work on the farm and to be there with the employees and inspire them! Since buying this farm we have worked hard to get the quality level up, both on the farm and in the coffee it produces. We have planted more shadowtrees, fruit trees have been planted together with new varieties of coffee. We have started with organic soil, and in every way we have managed tried to make the cultivation as natural as possible.
'Coffee smells like freshly ground heaven.' - Jessi Lane Adams
Since buying this farm, we have educated the workers so both picking the beans, and the aftermath of the coffee will come out better. Now that we see the fruit of our latest harvest we can see that our hard work and investments have paid off! Our coffee has gone from 84 on a quality-scale to a clear 86+, now both of these are good, but this is a good improvement. The fine fullness of the coffee remains, but the fruit tones are more complex and round.
